Airshow Information
Thursday 19th August – Sunday 22nd August
Detailed below are just some of the many events that are taking place over the 4 days between the two piers, and the Lower gardens for actual times on all events you will be able to purchase “The Official Air Festival Programs” from a couple of stalls within Bournemouth and there will also be “Officials” that will be selling them walking around, however do be aware that they will all be wearing identity badges so you will know that these are the “Official Programs”.
Schedule:
With over 12 hours of flying, the skies of Bournemouth will be hosting crowd favorites, with incredible displays and some superb new Aircraft – Not forgetting the Thursday evening dusk display, a must for everyone! The Festival site opens from 10am daily and displays start early afternoon.
Thursday from 2pm :
On the first day of the Festival expect to see the Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment’s Parachute Display Team – The Tigers, RAF Tutor, RAF Tucano, RAF Hawk, Dutch F-16, The Blades and Royal Navy Black Cats Helicopter Display Team. The evening line-up from approx. 8pm includes Dutch F-16, Miss Demeanour and Red Devils.
Friday from 2pm :
Day two displays will feature The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Red Arrows, Miss Demenaour, The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment’s Parachute Display Team – The Tigers, RAF Tutor, RAF Tucano, RAF Hawk and Dutch F-16.
Saturday from 12noon :
Get ready for a fantastic weekend of fierce flying! Saturday starts withe Royal Marine Beach Assaults at 12noon, aircraft includes Red Arrows, Yakovlevs, The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment’s Parachute Display Team – The Tigers, RAF Typhoon, RAF Tutor, RAF Tucano, RAF Hawk, SallyB, Vulcan, Breitling Wingwalkers and Dutch F-16.
Sunday from 1230pm :
The final day kicks off with Royal Marine Beach Assaults and is followed by four hours of superb displays, which include Army Historic Aircraft Flight, Red Arrows, Yakovlevs, RAF Typhoon, RAF Tutor, RAF Tucano, The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment’s Parachute Display Team – The Tigers, King Air, RAF Hawk, SallyB and Royal Navy Black Cats Helicopter Display Team.

In the Air:
Here are just some of the aircrafts and displays that will be participating in this year’s Airshow:
Hurricane, Hawk, Lancaster, Spitfire, Eurofighter, Tucano, Dutch F16, Yakovlevs, The Breitling Wingwalkers, B-17 – Sally B, The Devils Parachute Display Team and of course the famous Red Arrows will be performing their amazing sky display throughout the 3 days and much more..
On the Ground:
There is a beach assault which is carried out by the Royal Marines and you may fancy taking a trip to HMS Bangor which is moored in the bay. The RAF Village & The Royal Marines Area is not to be missed either.
With 1.5 miles of stalls selling hot and cold food & drinks, you won’t be going hungry or thirsty. There are also plenty of stalls selling memorabilia and gifts etc.
There is a fun fair and many cafe’s selling drinks and ice creams along the beaches and in the Bournemouth Gardens you can take a ride up in the Famous “Bournemouth Eye” a balloon ride with stunning views over Bournemouth which goes up until 10pm in the evenings.
Evening Entertainment :
There is a great line up of evening entertainment in the Lower gardens which is till 10pm Thursday to Saturday with street entertainers, The Royal Marines Band and one of the favorites from last year which was a huge success was the performance by the Royal Marines Combat Display Team. Also on the Thursday evening there is live music and a magical balloon glow which is fantastic and an amazing firework display to end the evening.
